Burngreave New Deal for Communities

Burngreave New Deal for Communities (BNDfC) is a government funded programme to help regenerate the Burngreave area. The area has been awarded £52 million over 10 years from 2001 – 2011.

Burngreave New Deal for Communities

New Deal for Communities (NDC) is part of the Government’s Neighbourhood Renewal Strategy. The strategy tackles deprived areas where there are poor job prospects, rundown areas and high levels of crime. The long term goal is to narrow the gap between the most deprived neighbourhoods and the prosperous neighbourhoods.

The Government wishes to see that the community is not only involved in regenerating the area, but actually takes a lead in implementing regeneration. NDC supports plans that bring together local people, community and voluntary sector organisations, public agencies, local authorities and business to tackle these problems and make a long-lasting improvement.
